A detailed look at the biophilic interior construction of a commercial office workspace at Infopark, Kochi.

The Challenge

An IT services company required a 12,000 sq.ft layout that would reduce employee stress, maximize natural light, and incorporate indoor water systems, while maintaining strict commercial building safety codes.

Our Approach

  1. Air Filtration & Greenery: Installed five hydroponic vertical plant walls integrated with carbon-absorbing plants (Chlorophytum comosum) and automated watering channels.
  2. Daylight Optimization: Restructured the layout using light-diffusing glass partitions, allowing natural sunlight to reach 85% of working desks.
  3. Materials: Used sustainably sourced plantation teak wood and bamboo acoustic panels. Structural audits were certified by the Nexston Corporations Pvt Ltd commercial contracting board.

The Result

  • Reduced Power Usage: Natural lighting layout reduced artificial lighting electricity bills by 34%.
  • Improved Employee Well-being: Internal HR surveys reported a 22% increase in productivity indices after moving to the biophilic workspace.
  • RERA & Fire Clearance: The project was completed with RERA clearances in 6 months, matching the client's timeline.
